Welcome to the Village of Fairfax

Fairfax is a village in Hamilton County, Ohio. The population was 1,760 at the 2020 census.  Nestled east of Cincinnati, and surrounded by Oakley, Mariemont, and Madisonville, Fairfax is a thriving community of homes and businesses.  State Route 50, also known as Columbia Parkway and Wooster Pike, acts as a major thoroughfare.  Fairfax is also commonly accessed from I-71 and Red Bank Road.

Fairfax maintains its own police department, public works/park force and recreation departments and is a member of the Little Miami Joint Fire District, whose Station 66 is right on Wooster Pike.  Our recreation department sponsors several events throughout the year such as Family Bowling Day, annual chili cook-off, Memorial Day services, summer Concert in the Park, Fairfax Fun Fest and Light Up Fairfax/Vendor Fair in December.

One of the Village’s more famous landmarks is the Frisch’s Mainliner Restaurant and the Ferris Memorial Building on Wooster Pike.  The former Ferris home now houses Old World Restoration and the Eisle Gallery of Art and the Frisch’s Mainliner is the flagship restaurant for Cincinnati.

Fairfax is part of the Mariemont City School District and is home to Mariemont Junior High on Southern Avenue.
