The Village of Fairfax Police Department offers a free home check service when you are going to be away from home. Our officers complete numerous courtesy home checks each year for Fairfax residents while they are away. Although we cannot guarantee your residence will be checked, officers will make every attempt to check your property while on patrol.
What Happens During the Check
During a home check an officer will walk the building perimeter while checking doors and windows. Each check will be logged in our computer system for reference. If an officer believes there is a problem, the key holder will be contacted immediately. If the key holder cannot be reached we will attempt to contact the property owner.
Required Information for Check
To request a home check we require this Vacation Home Check Request form be completed and returned to our office. The information provided on the form will be used to identify vehicles at the residence, service providers, lights that were left on, an emergency contact, and a key holder in the area. The completed form should be returned to the Police Department five days prior to your departure. Please drop the form off at the Municipal Building, 5903 Hawthorne Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45227, or email it to: [email protected].
